Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro received into her office Vice Governor Glenn Anthony Soco on September 15 as he prepares to lead Cebu’s delegation to Nanning City, China, for the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and the 2025 Guangxi International Sister Cities events.
Representing the governor, Soco will attend with Provincial Board (PB) Member Malcolm Sanchez of the lone district of Mandaue and PB Member Dason Lorenz Lagon of Cebu’s third district, the chair and vice chair of the Provincial Board’s Committee on Foreign and Local Relations.
Soco will speak at the Guangxi International Sister Cities Promotion Conference to advocate stronger ties with other ASEAN countries by promoting tourism, investments, and direct flights.
Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, holds special significance for Cebu as Guangxi is its sister province in China, alongside Guangdong, Sichuan, and Hainan.
Gov. Baricuatro wished the delegation a safe trip, encouraging them to embody Cebuano pride and excellence on the global stage.
The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo, scheduled from September 17 to 21, 2025, carries the theme: “Digital Intelligence and Innovation Empower Development: Leveraging China-ASEAN FTA 3.0 New Opportunities for an Even Closer China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future.”
