In Brgy. Garing, Consolacion, Cebu, lives Alejandra Soon Manoriña, born on May 3, 1925. Now at 100 years old and surrounded by her eight children, she shares her secret to long life: strictly vegetables, no meat.
On September 12, 2025, she was honored by the Cebu Provincial Government, under the leadership of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, with a ₱100,000 cash gift.
Ouano (6th District, Cebu), Vice Mayor Joannes “Joyjoy” Alegado, Brgy. Captain Wesley M. Alimoren, and the barangay councilors joined the activity, which the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) facilitated with help from Consolacion MSWDO and the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs.
Meanwhile, in the City of Mandaue, another Cebu centenarians cash gift Leon Balonan, born on June 28, 1925, also received the same recognition. His guiding secret to long life is simple yet powerful: eat healthy foods.
