In order to provide mechanisms and platforms for the engagement and empowerment of marginalized, underrepresented, and sectoral groups in the formulation and implementation of public policies and programs, People’s Governor Pamela Baricuatro signs Executive Order No. 11 constituting the Center for Participatory Governance (CPAG) Unit.
“The Center for Participatory Governance (CPAG) Unit, under the Office of the Governor, shall serve as the primary division for implementing community-based programs, facilitating sectoral engagement, and promoting participatory and inclusive governance,” the EO reads.
Among others, the CPAG Unit is mandated to design and implement direct service programs targeting vulnerable, disadvantaged, and grassroots sectors across the province; as well as to serve as a platform for institutionalizing genuine sectoral representation in local policy-making and development planning processes.
