CEBU CITY – Governor Pamela Baricuatro recently met with officers of the PNP Regional Forensic Unit 7, led by PLTCOL Ryan Ace M. Sala, to explore ways to strengthen collaboration and support the unit’s operations. The meeting reflects the provincial government’s commitment to improving law enforcement capabilities and ensuring that justice is served efficiently and effectively.

Enhancing Forensic Capabilities Through Collaboration
The Philippine National Police operates the Regional Forensic Unit 7, a specialized branch that provides scientific and technical support to law enforcement agencies across the region. Its functions include laboratory examinations, Scene of Crime Operations (SOCO), and specialized training for officers.
Among the unit’s services are forensic chemistry, medicolegal analysis, DNA testing, fingerprint analysis, and questioned document examination. These capabilities help solve complex cases by ensuring evidence is analyzed with scientific and legal standards.
