𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐄𝐕’𝐓 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃
After months of planning and deliberation, the Cebu Provincial Youth Development Council (CPYDC) has secured approval of the Provincial Youth Development Plan (PYDP), a policy framework intended to improve programs, targeted initiatives and opportunities for young people across the province.
The PYDP, which will serve as a guide for provincial efforts addressing the needs and priorities of Cebu’s youth, was approved by the council during its session on Friday, August 14.
The session was led by CPYDC Chairman, PPSK President and Board Member Loren Singco, with CPYDO-designated Youth Focal Mikee Empaces. Their leadership and guidance helped steer the council through the plan’s formulation process.
The PYDP was developed through a collaborative, interagency effort involving institutional partners and national and regional agencies, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government, National Youth Commission, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Education, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippine National Police and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The process also involved the League of Local Youth Development Officers, Cebu provincial departments, civil society organizations, regional youth organizations, subject-matter experts, sector leaders and other stakeholders who contributed their time, insights and technical expertise during the consultations.
The adoption of the PYDP provides a framework for coordinating provincial youth programs and addressing the needs and priorities identified through the consultation process. It also reflects the province’s continuing efforts to support youth participation and development.
