The Cebu Provincial Government turned over P15.1 million in financial assistance to the Toledo City for city hall improvements and soci-cultural activities.
Gov. Pamela Baricuatro handed over three checks to Toledo City Mayor Marjorie Perales during the Capitol’s distribution activity at the Toledo City Sports Complex on Monday, August 17.
The bulk of the assistance, P13 million, will fund city hall improvements. Another P2 million will support the upcoming Pasidungog sa Pagtuo, while P100,000 will go to the Pasundayag activity.
The turnover coincided as the provincial government also distributed assistance to residents affected by Typhoon Tino. Gov. Baricuatro also extended aid to the city’s four barangays for various projects.

Five hundred typhoon victims received P10,000 each, or P5 million in total, along with 10 kilos of rice from the national government through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
The Provincial Agriculture Office also turned over a walking-type agricultural tractor with rotary tiller and materials for marine protected areas.
The provincial government provided P850,000 to four barangays in Toledo City, namely Canlumampao, Don Andres Soriano, Carmen and Awihao.
The funds will be used for projects and procurement such as tables, chairs, a water system, pathways, sports equipment, office equipment and sociocultural activities.
Former Board Members Gigi Sanchez, now Capitol’s agriculture consultant, and Jiembo Borgonia also joined the distribution activity in Toledo City.
In Balamban town, Gov. Baricuatro handed over a total of P400,000 in financial assistance to the barangays of Nangka and Bayong. The aid will be used to construct a material recovery facility and purchase tables, chairs, cabinets, laptops and signages. | Capitol PIO, Photos by FE and JLP
