Capitol personnel, particularly from the Provincial Planning and Development Office, conducted last week several inspection and site validation for various projects requested from the offices of Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro, Vice Governor Glen Anthony O. Soco, and the provincial board members.
The site visits, which ran from August 11 to 14, 2026, were meant to evaluate whether the project location is viable, compliant with zoning/environmental safety standards, properly titled/owned, and free of physical obstructions, and other requirements.
Once the evaluated projects’ documentary requirements are completed, each would be added to the list of endorsed projects for eventual implementation and materialization.
The inspection team checked the sites for the construction of health care buildings, barangay halls, stage, covered courts, multi-purpose buildings, and drainage; road concreting; repairs of roads and multi-purpose buildings; street lightning; and installation of solar lights, in 21 locations of mid-west and northern Cebu.
In particular, the Office of the Governor, through the Barangay Affairs Office, receives requests for funding of barangay infrastructure projects, particularly road concreting with drainage; industrial fan; solar lighting; and constructions of multipurpose buildings/gyms, a multipurpose building/People’s Hall; a day care center; a GAD/SK/Senior citizen building; People’s Stage and other improvements; a People’s Health Station; a foot bridge; and the People’s Agri market with storage facility.
Aside from these, Cebu barangays could also request for the funding of socio-cultural events and related items, particularly fiestas or festival activities; procurement of multi-purpose tents, monobloc tables and chairs; and procurement of sports gears and equipment.
The barangays could likewise request, through a barangay resolution, for a barangay water system requiring a budget of up to P200,000. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝑷𝑫𝑶
