𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗔𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗶𝗱
The provincial government has partnered with 11 private hospitals and two pharmacies to speed up assistance to residents facing medical and other emergencies through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program.
Gov. Pamela Baricuatro formalized the partnerships on Friday, Aug. 14, as the Capitol moved to make assistance more accessible and shorten processing time.
“This is the direction we are pursuing: better service, more efficient processing, and faster assistance for Cebuanos in crisis,” Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan said.
Catalan is tasked by Gov. Pamela Baricuatro to oversee the health reforms implemented by her administration.
The Capitol’s AICS provides temporary assistance to underprivileged residents of the province for hospitalization and medical expenses, burial and transportation costs, education needs, food assistance, and psychosocial support.
The program is administered by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and is separate from the nationally funded AICS program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀
Partner hospitals are AppleOne-Visayas Medical Center, St. Vincent General Hospital Cebu Inc., University of Cebu Medical Center Inc., Mendero Medical Center Inc., Mactan Doctors Hospital, Deiparine Community Hospital, Cebu Velez General Hospital, Cebu North General Hospital, Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital Inc., Chong Hua Hospital Main and Mandaue, and Cebu South General Hospital.
The partner pharmacies are 24 Aid Medical Corp. and Bing Pharmacy.
The provincial government is also streamlining the AICS process, from filing requests to releasing assistance, while introducing digital verification measures to cut processing time.
