𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐥-𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥, 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐝
Around 1,306 habal-habal drivers in Minglanilla received cash assistance and rice subsidies from the Cebu Provincial Government as the second batch of transport workers in the town to benefit from the aid.
The aid, which totaled P3.918 million, aims to help the habal-habal drivers cope with the rising costs of fuel and basic commodities.
Gov. Pamela Baricuatro led the distribution, turning over the cash aid along with 10-kilogram sacks of rice from the national government under the “Bigay Bigas para sa Masa” program.
Gov. Baricuatro said her administration would continue delivering services to the Cebuanos without regard to political affiliations.
“I defied tradition, I defied political color, I defied what is easy … kay gusto nako motabang kaninyo ug moserbisyo kaninyo. Ang importante nako, maserbisyohan nako ang mga Sugboanon,” Gov. Baricuatro said.
“Ang naa sa akong dughan ang unsay akong mahatag kaninyo, unsa’y akong matabang kaninyo, unsa’y among masuporta kaninyo, mao na’y importante,” she added.
The governor also turned over a P5-million check for socio-cultural activities in the municipality and veterinary logistics support through the Provincial Veterinary Office.
Minglanilla Mayor Lheslen Abella Enad thanked the Capitol for fulfilling its commitment to the town’s habal-habal drivers.
“Gov. Pam, imo gyud nga gituman imong saad nga naay second batch nga madawat nga fuel subsidy atong habal-habal drivers,” Enad said.
Enad also recognized the drivers’ role in helping students, workers and senior citizens travel safely to their destinations and return home.
