Gov. Pamela Baricuatro thanked retired Cebu Provincial Capitol employees for their years of service, saying their work helped build the institution that continues to serve Cebuanos.
Speaking at the first grand reunion of the Cebu Provincial Capitol Retirees Association (CePCRA), Gov. Baricuatro congratulated the retirees and welcomed them back to the Capitol.
The reunion carried the theme, “One Capitol Family: United by Memories, Strengthened by Friendship.” The gathering was held at the Capitol Social Hall.
“Long before I became governor, you were already here—working behind the scenes, serving our fellow Cebuanos, and helping build the institution that we now have,” Gov. Baricuatro said.
She said she wished she had the chance to work with more of the retirees, adding that she could have learned from their experience and heard stories from their years at the Capitol.
“Daghan siguro kaayo mo’g istorya nga dili na pwede ma-post sa Facebook!” she said, drawing laughter from the audience.
Gov. Baricuatro said she also envied the retirees for reaching a point where they could look back on their careers with the satisfaction of having fulfilled their duty to Cebu.
“You have already done your part for Cebu. Now it is our turn to carry that responsibility,” she said.
The governor said she still had much work to do before she could retire, adding that she wanted to give her best to Cebu and its people.
She said she hoped that when her own time to leave public service came, she could sit among the retirees and say: “I served. I gave my best. And I left Cebu better than I found it.”

Gov. Baricuatro thanked the retirees for their years of service and lasting contributions to the Capitol.
“The Capitol may have changed, the faces may have changed, but you will always remain part of this family,” she said.
“Enjoy your reunion, enjoy the memories, and most importantly, enjoy retirement—you have earned it,” Gov. Baricuatro added.
The governor also administered the oathtaking to the association’s first set of officers headed by its president, Juditha S. Bonita.
In her acceptance speech, Bonita said retirement marks not the end of one’s journey but the beginning of a new and meaningful chapter. She said that the association now has 429 members.
“Retirement is not the end of our journey, but the beginning of another chapter where we can continue to live, serve, and make a difference in our own ways,” she said.
CePCRA Vice President Vina A. Curay described the gathering as more than just a social event. She said it served as a testament to the brotherhood and sisterhood forged through their years of service at the Capitol. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑭𝑬
