𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐎𝐋 𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐄𝐄𝐒 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐎 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄
After no less than Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro sending them off last week, 10 Cebu Provincial Government employees from the Cebu Provincial Planning and Development Office Project Management Team started their five-day traffic administration course last Monday, August 10, 2026, by learning what transportation planning is about, particularly its interaction with land use.
Their first day then ended with a lecture on traffic engineering and management, wherein they learned the technical terms used in the design, operation, and management of a transportation system.
They would also learn about the fundamentals of traffic impact assessment, road safety, mobility management, data collection, public transportation planning, and institutional framework during their entire training, which is facilitated by the National Center for Transportation Studies of the University of the Philippines Diliman.
The training aims to strengthen the team’s capabilities, as the Province prepares for the implementation of the Tabang PangByahe Program—a Department of Transportation (DOTr)-funded initiative that seeks to assist bus operators to continue deploying units in underserved routes across Cebu, thus improving access to safe and reliable public transportation. The DOTr has allocated P20 million for the program.
