𝟐,𝟖𝟒𝟖 𝐇𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐋-𝐇𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐋 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐈𝐋𝐎𝐀𝐍, 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐀 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐅𝐔𝐄𝐋, 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐈𝐃
Led by Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, the Cebu Provincial Government resumed its distribution of rice and fuel assistance on Tuesday, benefiting 2,848 habal-habal drivers in Liloan and Compostela.
The drivers were the first batch of beneficiaries in the two towns, with the Capitol set to return on Aug. 18 for another round of distribution.
The first batch covered 1,500 drivers in Liloan and 1,348 in Compostela. Each received ₱3,000 in fuel assistance and 10 kilos of rice.
Gov. Baricuatro said the provincial government would continue to focus on delivering services to Cebuanos.
“Dili lalim ang panahon karon. Kuptanay lang sa ta sa bakus tanan, mo-labay ra ni. Trabaho lang sa ko ron. Mangita kog paagi nga makatabang kanunay ninyo,” Gov. Baricuatro said.
Residents of Barangay San Vicente in Liloan, where the distribution was held, have another good reason to celebrate after the governor pledged to provide an industrial ceiling fan and repair the roof insulation.
Barangay San Vicente Captain Victor Comendador also thanked the governor and expressed hope that the aid would reach more communities.
For Renante Cagang of Barangay Calero, Liloan, the aid will help drivers cope with rising expenses.
“Lisud gyud ang pagpamasahero ilabi na kay mahal ang pamalitunon dili lang kay ang gasolina,” Cagang said.
Wilma Zarraga of Barangay Dapdap, Compostela, welcomed the return of the aid for habal-habal drivers.

Compostela Vice Mayor Froilan Quiño thanked Gov. Baricuatro for including the town’s drivers in the distribution.
“May adlaw ra gyud nga makabawos mi nimo, Gov,” Quiño said.
The provincial government will continue the distribution in other areas of Cebu.
Also present during the distributions were Fifth District Board Member Mike Villamor, Capitol department heads and local government officials.
