Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro led provincial officials in formally opening the month-long celebration of the Province of Cebu’s 457th Founding Anniversary during a solemn declaration held at the Capitol’s flag-raising ceremony on Monday, Aug. 3.
The anniversary observance is anchored on Republic Act No. 7698, as amended, which declares Aug. 6 of every year a special non-working public holiday throughout the Province of Cebu, including its highly urbanized and component cities.
The ceremony was attended by Vice Governor Glenn Anthony Soco, members of the Provincial Board, district congressmen, mayors and vice mayors; as well Capitol department heads led by Provincial Administrator Ace Durano and provincial and regional directors of national line agencies, and guests from across Cebu.
