Patients admitted to Cebu Province’s Capitol-run hospitals will begin receiving free linens and admission kits as the provincial government rolls out new patient comfort amenities across its 16 district and provincial hospitals starting today, Aug. 1.
Under the program, every admitted patient will receive a new set of linens consisting of a fitted sheet, pillow, pillowcase and blanket, which they may take home upon discharge.
Patients will also receive a complimentary admission kit containing a spoon and fork, tissue, towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, alcohol, a calibrated medicine cup, thermometer, medical adhesive tape and a paper bag.
Both the linens and admission kits will be provided at no additional cost to patients.
“The linen initiative was first introduced at Cebu Provincial Hospital-Bogo City under the leadership of Chief of Hospital Dr. Zoraida Yurango. After the program proved workable, the Capitol decided to expand it to all 16 of its district and provincial hospitals,” Capitol Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan.
The initiative is part of the Capitol’s continuing efforts to improve the quality of care in its hospitals under the administration of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro.
Catalan has been tasked by the governor to oversee improvements to hospital services.
According to Catalan, the admission kit is also being introduced for the first time across Cebu’s Capitol-run hospitals to help patients meet basic needs during their stay.
As of Aug. 1, linens are available at the Capitol-run hospitals in Danao, Bogo, Carcar, Barili, Tuburan, Malabuyoc, Pinamungajan, Badian and Balamban. Admission kits are currently available at Cebu Provincial Hospital-Danao, with additional stocks expected to arrive in the coming days and weeks until all 16 hospitals are covered.
