𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿’𝘀 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘄𝗻
ALL roads lead to the Capitol grounds early tomorrow for the first-ever Governor’s Zero Hunger Run, with at least 3,471 runners set to test their stamina in five race distances.
The race begins at 2:30 a.m. with the 21-kilometer category, where Gov. Pamela Baricuatro will lead the ceremonial gun start. The remaining categories will follow on a staggered schedule: 12K at 3 a.m., 6K at 3:30 a.m., 3K at 4 a.m., and the 1K fun run at 4:10 a.m.
Nearly P250,000 in cash prizes await winners at the finish line. Of the five race categories, the 1K race is non-competitive, with Gov. Baricuatro leading more than 500 guest runners, including local government officials, in a fun run to show support for the governor’s advocacy against hunger.
The male and female champions in the 21K category will each receive P20,000. Second and third placers will take home P15,000 and P10,000, respectively, while the fourth and fifth finishers will each receive P5,000.
In the 12K race, the top three finishers will earn P10,000, P8,000, and P5,000, respectively. Fourth and fifth placers will each receive P3,000.
The top five finishers in the 6K class will earn P8,000, P6,000, P4,000, P3,000, and P2,000, respectively. In the 3K race, the top three finishers will take home P5,000, P3,000, and P2,000.
