Doctors and nurses at Oslob District Hospital underwent hands-on training on the proper use of a newly acquired electric cautery machine to enhance surgical services and improve patient safety.
Dr. Jennalyn Bigno, the hospital’s chief, witnessed the demonstration and orientation to ensure the medical staff are prepared to operate the equipment safely and effectively.
An electric cautery machine is used during surgical procedures to control bleeding and cut tissue with precision, improving efficiency in the operating room.
The equipment is part of the ongoing modernization of the province’s 16 Capitol-run hospitals under the administration of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro. The upgrades are being overseen by Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan.
Bigno thanked Gov. Baricuatro for providing the equipment, saying the new cautery machine would strengthen the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality surgical care to residents of Oslob and nearby communities.
