The Cebu Provincial Government distributed learning resources and school supplies to public schools in Minglanilla on Wednesday, July 22, as part of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro’s continuing commitment to improve the quality of education for young Cebuanos.
Funded through the Province’s Special Education Fund (SEF), the program benefited Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 3 learners, including students under the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program. The learning packages included basic learning kits, English reading kits, workbooks, school bags, notebooks, pad paper, tumblers, pencil cases, pencils, and erasers.
Gov. Baricuatro led the ceremonial turnover together with Minglanilla Acting Mayor Lheslen Enad, Board Member Lakambini Reluya, and Deped Cebu Province Division Superintendent Senen Paulin.
Addressing parents, teachers, and education stakeholders, Gov. Baricuatro underscored the importance of providing children with a safe and nurturing environment where they can grow into responsible and productive members of society.
“Children didn’t choose to be born, we chose to have them. And for that, we owe them a life of safety, love, and happiness. It takes a village to raise a child, so we are all partners in making sure that our next generation will be kind, loving, and productive Sugboanons,” she said.
The governor also urged parents to closely monitor their children’s use of social media and shared her vision of establishing speech laboratories in all public schools across Cebu Province to further strengthen students’ communication skills.
Acting Mayor Enad thanked the provincial government and the Department of Education for their continued support to the municipality’s learners.
“Education is one of the best investments we can give to our children. Every book and learning material strengthens their literacy, numeracy, and love for learning while giving them the opportunity to build a better future,” Enad said.

Meanwhile, Paulin expressed his gratitude to Gov. Baricuatro for the provincial government’s continued support to the education sector, including the construction of a new division office, the conduct of the PTA Summit through the Provincial PTA Fund, and the provision of P8 million worth of robotics kits for public schools.
Distribution of learning resources and school supplies for schools under Minglanilla District I was held at Minglanilla Central School, while distribution for District II schools was conducted at Lipata Central Elementary School.
