Governor Pamela Baricuatro led the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of a sewage treatment facility at Minglanilla District Hospital on Wednesday, July 22, as part of the Capitol’s commitment to environmental sustainability and improved healthcare infrastructure.
The P4.8-million project will provide the hospital with a modern sewage treatment system that will safely treat wastewater before it is discharged into natural bodies of water, ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
Construction is expected to be completed within 60 to 90 days.
Governor Baricuatro said the project is the first of its kind under her administration and expressed her commitment to installing similar sewage treatment facilities in all Provincial Government-run district hospitals.
“It is about being environmentally responsible ang Probinsya sa Sugbo. For the longest time, ang mga hospitals wala gyud ani. So karon we are working nga ang tanan natong mga district hospitals mahimoan nato aron mahimong environmentally compliant usab,” the governor said.
She also shared her vision of further upgrading the Minglanilla District Hospital into a trauma center to enhance healthcare services for Cebuanos.
