The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) has approved a resolution authorizing Governor Pamela Baricuatro to enter into and sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Province of Bohol for the implementation of the SugBohol Sisterhood Agreement. The resolution was approved during the Provincial Board’s Regular Session on Monday, July 20.
Authored by PB Member Malcolm Sanchez, the measure aims to strengthen interprovincial cooperation between Cebu and Bohol in the areas of tourism, commerce, trade, business, economic development, and shared infrastructure to further accelerate the growth of the Central Visayas region.
The formal signing of the MOA is scheduled on July 31 in the Province of Bohol.
As part of the agreement’s implementation, a Technical Working Group (TWG) will also be organized to oversee the execution of the partnership and related initiatives. The TWG will be composed of PB Members Stanley Caminero, Lakambini Reluya, Malcolm Sanchez, Nelson Mondigo, Raymond Calderon, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Secretary Atty. Pulchra Marie Acevedo.
The resolution upholds Cebu Province’s commitment under Joint Resolution No. 01-2024, adopted by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cebu and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol during their historic joint session in November 2024. The partnership is anchored on the provinces’ shared obligation to foster stronger collaboration and maximize opportunities for economic growth, tourism development, and regional integration in Central Visayas following the establishment of the Negros Island Region. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔
