𝗖𝗣𝗛-𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗕-𝗚𝘆𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗶𝗿-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁
Patients at the Cebu Provincial Hospital (CPH)-Carcar City, particularly mothers recovering from childbirth, can now receive care in a cooler and more comfortable environment after the Capitol completed upgrades to the hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-Gyne) ward.
The improvements include the installation of air-conditioning units in the ward, which had operated for years without cooling, as well as the replacement of rusted windows and the conversion of curtain dividers into glass partitions to improve patient privacy while allowing healthcare workers to monitor patients more effectively.
“These improvements may appear basic, but for patients enduring pain, recovering from delivery, or undergoing close observation, a comfortable room can make a meaningful difference in their hospital experience,” Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan said.
Catalan has been tasked by Gov. Pamela Baricuatro with supervising health reforms and upgrades in the Capitol’s 16 hospitals.
The CPH- Carcar also established a dedicated High-Risk Pregnancy Unit for expectant mothers who require specialized care and closer observation.
The upgrades addressed concerns raised during inspections by the Department of Health (DOH) licensing team, particularly the need to improve ventilation and the overall ward environment.
“Every improvement matters, especially when it brings greater comfort to mothers and patients during some of their most vulnerable moments,” Catalan said.
“Step by step, we continue to improve our hospitals and bring better healthcare closer to every Cebuano,” she added.
