𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro led the inauguration and turnover of the Hapitanan sa Sugbo tourist rest area in Barangay Gaas, Balamban, on Thursday, July 16.
The more than P6 million facility, funded by the Cebu Provincial Government in partnership with the Department of Tourism, will serve as a one-stop stopover for travelers visiting Balamban and nearby destinations.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing, Gov. Baricuatro and Balamban Mayor Amos Edwin C. Cabahug signed a memorandum of agreement before formally turning over the facility to the municipal government.
“I’m truly happy and glad nga finally na-turnover na jud, long overdue,” the governor said.
Mayor Cabahug thanked the provincial government for its continued support.
“Mapasalamaton kaayo ko sa among nadawat nga 1,200 solar streetlights. Akoa ning ibutang una sa Transcentral Highway,” he said.
He also thanked Gov. Baricuatro for allocating P90 million for the construction of a two-lane bridge.
Barangay Gaas Capt. Eleuterio Gentapa likewise expressed his gratitude.
“Ang usa ka panaw inubanan sa panaghiusa adunay tumong,” he said.
