The Cebu Provincial Government has begun the construction of a new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Cebu Provincial Hospital–Danao City (CPH-Danao), another step in the Capitol’s drive to improve public healthcare services.
The ICU is part of the hospital’s bid to become a Level 2 facility, allowing it to expand its capacity and provide more advanced care, particularly for critically ill patients.
The project is among the healthcare reforms being implemented under the administration of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro to modernize infrastructure across the province’s 16 Capitol-run hospitals. The hospital upgrade program is being overseen by Capitol Health Consultant Dr. Elisse Nicole “Nikki” Catalan.
Once completed, the facility is expected to strengthen CPH-Danao’s capacity to handle medical emergencies and provide specialized critical care, improving access to quality healthcare for residents of northern Cebu.
