Employees of the Cebu Provincial Capitol underwent Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) orientation and training at the Capitol Grounds on Monday, July 14, as part of activities leading up to the observance of National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Day.
Spearheaded by the Cebu Provincial Health Office (PHO) headed by Dr. Sheila Shy Faciol, the activity was conducted in partnership with the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7), Philippine Red Cross, and the City Health Offices of Danao and Carcar as well as the Municipal Health Office of Minglanilla.
Also present during the training were Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Elisse Nicole “Nikki” Catalan, PHO’s John Noel Enriquez, and DOH-7 representative Emil John Arevalo.
Participants were introduced to S.A.G.I.P. (Save a Life with CPR), a simplified framework for responding to cardiac emergencies. During the Hands-Only CPR demonstration, employees learned how to recognize sudden cardiac arrest, activate emergency response, and perform high-quality chest compressions.
Carrying the theme, “Estudyante, Titser sa Barangay, Ating mga Lifesaver,” the activity supports the government’s goal of building safer, more prepared workplaces and communities by empowering more individuals to become lifesavers. | 𝑪𝑬𝑩𝑼 𝑷𝑰𝑶
