𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓
Participants of the Cebu Provincial Government’s “Understanding Choices Series 3: People’s Participation in Governance and Development Summit”, or the “People’s Summit”, held today, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, take advantage of the services being offered by national government agencies (NGAs) at their respective booths.
The activity, conducted in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government-Cebu and the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., (RAFI) is the third of a series, which are meant to identify best practices, roadblocks, and lessons on participatory governance.
Speakers from Luzon and the Visayas spoke to almost 2,000 representatives of civil society organizations, people’s organizations, non-government organizations, business groups to bolster their know-how and capabilities towards nation building.
As an act of support, the NGAs set up booths at the hallway leading to the venue to offer its services to and answer questions by the event participants.
The NGAs who participated are the Department of Agriculture, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Cooperative Development Authority, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Statistics Authority, Department of Health, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, Social Security System, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Philippine Coconut Authority, Securities and Exchange Commission, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and the RAFI.
The UCS is meant to put a spotlight on the problems and opportunities that arise from concerns that beset Cebu. This is for the Cebuanos, including leaders and policy makers, to make more informed decisions in addressing the issues.
The first of the series was held last March and tackled Cebu’s solid waste dilemma, while the second one was held last April and served as a climate action planning initiative to advance an inclusive, climate-informed roadmap towards a flood-resilient Cebu province. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝑷𝑫𝑶
