The long-standing flooding problem at Tuburan District Hospital is set to be addressed with the ongoing ₱7.8 million infrastructure project designed to provide a permanent solution.

The project includes the construction of a new drainage system, concreting of hospital driveways, construction of sidewalks and improvements to the parking area.

Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan proposed the project after witnessing recurring flooding during her first visit to the hospital in July 2025. Following her assessment, she identified the drainage system as a priority, saying the flooding had repeatedly disrupted hospital operations and restricted access to the facility during heavy rains.

Catalan said the project would provide a safer, cleaner, and more accessible environment for patients, their companions, and healthcare workers.

The infrastructure project is part of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro’s ongoing effort to upgrade facilities and improve services in the province’s 16 Capitol-run hospitals.
