𝐋𝐌𝐏–𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐎𝐋 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄
The League of the Municipalities of the Philippines–Cebu Chapter (LMP-Cebu) has transferred its office to the Executive Building of the Cebu Provincial Capitol, a move expected to strengthen coordination between the Provincial Government and Cebu’s 44 municipalities.
On Friday, July 10, the LMP-Cebu formally blessed and inaugurated its new office on the second floor, right wing of the Executive Building, which used to be the Capitol Gallery.
The inauguration was attended by Governor Pamela Baricuatro, Vice Governor Glenn Soco and members of the Provincial Board, Mandaue City Mayor Jonkie Ouano, and members of the LMP-Cebu Executive Committee led by Cordova Mayor and LMP-Cebu President Cesar Suan.
Mayor Suan said the transfer from the Capitol’s Legislative Building to the Executive Building is a positive development under the leadership of Governor Baricuatro, as it brings the mayors’ concerns closer to the Governor’s Office.
“Duol na kaayo sila sa ilahang kinahanglanon,” Mayor Suan told the media. “Unlike before, naa sila sa legislative building. Medyo layo kaayo labi na gyud sa amoang mga concerns kay we are executive, so at least man lang naa mi duol-duol sa opisina sa gobernador.”
He said the office will serve not only as the headquarters of LMP-Cebu officers but also as a lounge for all Cebu mayors where they can rest, hold meetings, and converge while conducting official business at the Capitol.
The office is also staffed with personnel who can assist mayors with their concerns, including lawyers who can provide legal services.
Mayor Suan added that he intends to report to the LMP-Cebu office at the Capitol at least once a week to better attend to the needs of member municipalities. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒀𝑱𝑩
