The Cebu Provincial Government will donate two industrial ceiling fans to Oslob’s newly inaugurated municipal evacuation center, as Gov. Pamela Baricuatro pledged more assistance and development projects for the town.
Four days after her previous visit, Gov. Baricuatro joined local officials on Wednesday, July 8, for the inauguration and blessing of the evacuation center in Barangay Poblacion.
To improve ventilation and provide comfort for evacuees, the governor committed to donating two industrial ceiling fans.
“Kaning maong center ato ning giandam inkaso naay mga kalamidad, aron aduna ta’y kabutangan sa mga mabiktima og mga kalamidad sama sa bagyo, linog, sunog ug uban pa,” Oslob Mayor Ronald Guaren said.
The evacuation center was funded through the office of Second District Rep. Edsel Galeos, who also attended the inauguration along with Second District Board Members Stanley Caminero and Raymond Calderon.
Galeos thanked Gov. Baricuatro for initiating the construction of a sewage treatment facility at Oslob District Hospital, which broke ground on July 4.
After the blessing of the evacuation facility, Capitol and Oslob officials led the groundbreaking for a new sports and cultural center also in Barangay Poblacion. The project is funded by the Municipality of Oslob.
“Adto-a lang nya ko sa Capitol, mayor, para ma-storyahan nato ang additional budget,” the governor said.
With one of the Capitol-run district hospitals located in Oslob, Gov. Baricuatro also assured local officials and residents that her administration would continue working toward upgrading the hospital to a Level 1 facility.
