Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro reaffirmed the Provincial Government’s commitment to improving public education as she visited Oslob National High School in Poblacion, Oslob, on July 8 to deliver school supplies and armchairs for students.
The assistance forms part of the Capitol’s continuing efforts to provide schools with essential learning resources and create a more conducive environment for learning across the province.
The governor was warmly welcomed by students and faculty members, with the school grounds erupting in cheers as she approached students gathered under the shade of trees.
Joining the governor were Second District Board Members Raymond Calderon and Dr. Stanley Caminero. They turned over the school supplies and armchairs to school principal Michael Angelo Magalso.
In her speech, Governor Baricuatro urged students to study hard, respect their parents and teachers, and always choose kindness despite the hate and misinformation they encounter online.
She also encouraged them to become critical thinkers and cautioned against overreliance on artificial intelligence (AI).
“Al can help us but it will not substitute in our being kind, in our being humble. Mao gyod nay importante nga values nga atong pagabuhaton as Cebuanos,” she said. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑱𝑳𝑷, 𝑭𝑬
