Gov. Pamela Baricuatro Gives P3M Aid to 22 Cebu Barangays for Community Projects

Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro personally handed over checks to barangay officials as financial assistance to support programs and projects in their respective communities. Among the proposed projects are socio-cultural activities and the purchase of equipment such as tables, chairs and tents.

Barangay Captain Marivic Villanueva of Barangay Sanlagan in the Municipality of Badian expressed her gratitude after her barangay received P250,000 in financial assistance from the governor.

Of the amount, P200,000 will be used to improve the barangay’s water supply system by installing a submersible water pump to strengthen water flow to upland areas. The remaining P50,000 will fund the barangay’s socio-cultural activities.

“Nagpasalamat gyud ko’g dako ni Governor Pamela Baricuatro kay natagaan gyud mi og P200,000 worth of infrastructure project para sa among submersible water pump para sa improvement sa among water supply system sa among barangay,” Villanueva said.

“Dako kaayo ni og tabang sa paghinay-hinay og tubag sa panginahanglan sa katawhan sa Sanlagan sa patubig,” she added.

Villanueva said the assistance would also help replace the barangay’s aging water tank, enabling the system to provide a more reliable water supply to far-flung areas, including a local school and nearby households.

A total of 28 checks ranging from P50,000 to P250,000 were distributed to 22 barangays across four districts in Cebu. Four barangays from the 3rd District, one barangay each from the 4th and 5th districts, and 16 barangays from the 7th District received financial assistance from the Office of the Governor. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒀𝑱𝑩, 𝑨𝑹𝑱
