𝗣𝗗𝗗𝗥𝗠𝗢 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
A total of 45 responders and community frontliners from the Municipality of Malabuyoc have completed an Advanced Rope Rescue Training conducted by the Emergency Response and Search and Rescue Division of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
Held from June 22 to 26, the training combined classroom discussions, demonstrations and hands-on exercises, culminating in a skills assessment based on simulated emergency scenarios.
Participants included personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (BDRRMOs), and local tour guides.
Aside from advanced rope rescue techniques, the participants were introduced to the basics of the Incident Command System (ICS), which strengthens coordination among responding agencies and other stakeholders during emergencies.
The PDRRMO said it will continue investing in capacity-building initiatives, stressing that effective disaster preparedness begins with well-trained and properly equipped responders on the ground.
