Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro convened the province’s mayors and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Tuesday to strengthen collaboration on Cebu’s priority development initiatives and ensure that local governments move forward with a shared vision for progress.
Among the key agenda discussed were the Provincial Development Investment Plan (PDIP) and the identification of priority projects under the Annual Investment Plan (AIP) to be funded through the Provincial Government’s Development Fund.
As Chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC) in the Visayas, Gov. Baricuatro also presented the region’s latest economic performance and discussed how Cebu’s local governments can work together to sustain growth while addressing common challenges across the province.
The governor emphasized that achieving meaningful development requires partnership among all local leaders.
“You are not under me. You are all with me. Kuyog tang tanan to give Cebu the best,” Gov. Baricuatro told the officials.
She encouraged the mayors to remain active partners in identifying local concerns and crafting solutions that will benefit every Cebuano.
The meeting also tackled the implementation of the governor’s Executive Order strengthening the Province’s measures against African Swine Fever (ASF), highlighting the importance of coordinated action among local government units to protect Cebu’s hog industry and safeguard the livelihood of farmers.
