𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒 𝐏𝟓𝟎𝐌 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐔𝐄 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋
Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro announced Monday, June 29, that the provincial government will provide P50 million in financial assistance to support the Mandaue City-run hospital, reinforcing efforts to improve healthcare services and strengthen collaboration with the Mandaue City Government.
The governor made the announcement at Mandaue Heritage Plaza after attending the Mandaue City Government’s flag-raising ceremony alongside Mayor Thadeo “Jonkie” Ouano, Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede, members of the City Council, city employees, law enforcement personnel and Lone District Rep. Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon.
In her speech, Governor Baricuatro said the P50 million will serve as an initial allocation for the city-run hospital to enhance its services and better address the healthcare needs of Mandaue residents. She also assured city officials of the provincial government’s continued support for the city’s priority programs and future healthcare initiatives.
“Gusto nako ipahibaw nimo Mayor, kato imong request sa inyong hospital, initial na, Mayor, ang P50 million. Unya next year atoa na budgetan,” Gov. Baricuatro said.
“Padayon lang ta. I know you are very capable here in your City of Mandaue, but please know na naa ra ang Cebu Provincial Government nagpaluyo sa inyo and padayon mi sa pagka-collaborative uban ninyo,” she added.
The governor also commended Mayor Ouano’s leadership, citing the city’s commitment to good governance, transparency and accountability.
“Mayor, I just want you to know how appreciative I am sa imong pagdala sa Mandaue City. Good governance, transparency and accountability—nakita nako na, Mayor. Nakita sab nako ang imong collaborative spirit,” she said.
Mayor Ouano thanked Gov. Baricuatro and the provincial government for supporting the city’s efforts to make healthcare services more accessible to Mandaue residents.
“Ang kani man gud atong hospital, wa kahibaw ang kadaghanan nga ang building ra na ang gihimo. Mao na ang gipaningkamotan namo ni Cong. Lollypop. Mao niadto ta sa Senado last year og nakakuha ta og P400 million, but that’s just for the building. Ang kani gihatag ni Gov. para to sa atong medical equipment sa atong City Hospital, mao nga salamat kaayo, Gov.,” Mayor Ouano said.
“Rest assured, Gov., you have our commitment and cooperation para sa benepisyo sa mga Mandauehanon,” he added.
Following the ceremony, Mayor Ouano toured Governor Baricuatro around the Bantay Mandaue Command Center, where the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue monitor the city’s major roads and rivers through a network of closed-circuit television cameras. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑭𝑬
