𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗸
Farmers and fisherfolk in Tabuelan town received livestock and agricultural and fishery assistance from the Cebu Provincial Government to help improve their livelihoods.
Gov. Pamela Baricuatro on Thursday, June 18, led the turnover of the assistance package during a program at the Tabuelan Astrodome.
The aid, coursed through the Provincial Agriculture Office and the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), was distributed to residents in the town’s upland and coastal barangays affected by last year’s magnitude 6.9 earthquake.
The livelihood package included fish aggregating devices and Amazon nets for fish pots to help fishing communities replace damaged equipment and restore their sources of income.
The Capitol also provided 20 goats, 10 carabaos with plows, 500 grafted calamansi seedlings, and 1,000 packs of assorted vegetable seedlings to support farmers and boost agricultural production.
Meanwhile, the PVO conducted a free veterinary medical caravan at the venue. Pet food and animal health supplies, including dewormers, antibiotics, vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes, were provided to beneficiaries.
The assistance is part of the Capitol’s efforts under the administration of Gov. Baricuatro to help communities recover their livelihoods while providing immediate support to affected households.
Following the distribution, Gov. Baricuatro also inspected the Tabuelan Public Market, making rounds of the facility and meeting with vendors and residents.
