Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro joined Malabuyoc officials, employees, and residents during the town’s flag-raising ceremony held at the Malabuyoc Municipal Hall on Monday morning, June 15, 2026.
Following the ceremony, the Cebu Provincial Government distributed agricultural assistance to farmer-beneficiaries in the municipality, including one walking-type agricultural tractor, 20 bags of hybrid yellow corn seeds, and assorted vegetable seeds.
In her message, Governor Baricuatro assured the people of Malabuyoc of the Provincial Government’s continued support and commitment to public service.
“Ang Provincial Government naa ra gyud nagpaluyo ninyo. Of course, ang bida ang LGU; ang Provincial Government mo-augment ra mi ug motabang ninyo. Naa ra mi nag-support kaninyo. Sa unsa among matabang didto sa Kapitolyo, amo gyud na ipabot kaninyo diri sa Malabuyoc,” the governor said.
Gov. Baricuatro also encouraged the public to remain focused on progress and development amid political issues.
“Kahibaw ko nga naay mga political instability karon, so dili lang ta maminaw ana. Pro-Sugbo lang gyud ta,” she added.
For her part, Malabuyoc Mayor Erlinda Piedad thanked Governor Baricuatro for taking time to visit the municipality and personally join the flag-raising ceremony, noting that it was a first for the town.
“Dako kaayo among garbo sa Malabuyoc, Gov, sa imong pag-ari. Bisan sa kabusy nimo, gihatagan gyud nimo ug higayon nga makuyog namo sa flag ceremony,” Mayor Piedad said.
The mayor also expressed optimism that the governor’s visit would pave the way for more projects and stronger collaboration between the Provincial Government and the municipality.
“Manghinaot ko, Gov, nga mas daghan pang muabot kay mao kini ang sinugdanan ug magpadayon ang atong serbisyo. Ang serbisyo nga matinud-anon ug puno sa gugma nga way pag lubad.,” she added.
