Cebu Gov. Pam Baricuatro turned over ₱10 million in infrastructure assistance to the Municipality of Alcoy and approved an additional ₱10 million during a meeting with local officials on June 8.

Gov. Baricuatro handed over the initial ₱10-million check during a courtesy call and meeting with Alcoy Mayor Jose Eugenio “Jojo” Singson, members of the Municipal Council, and barangay captains. The fund will support various infrastructure projects aimed at improving public facilities and services in the town.

During the same meeting, the governor also approved another ₱10 million in assistance to further support Alcoy’s development programs.

She likewise facilitated the release of ₱12 million for Barangay Pugalo, representing its share from extraction fees generated by an Alcoy-based mining company.

Local officials said the fund had been delayed for nearly two years. Its release will allow the barangay to use the resources for community development projects and public services.

The meeting showed the provincial government’s efforts to work with local government units and ensure that development funds reach communities for infrastructure and service improvements. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑨𝑹𝑱
