Three dentists who dedicated decades of service to the Cebu Provincial Government were honored by Gov. Pam Baricuatro in recognition of their commitment to improving the oral health and well-being of Cebuanos.

The recognition reflects the Capitol’s appreciation for healthcare workers whose years of public service have contributed to the delivery of accessible and quality healthcare across Cebu.

Among those recognized on Monday, June 8, 2026, were Dr. Glomaris Comendador, oral health coordinator of the Provincial Health Office, and Dr. Gladys Layese, a dentist assigned at the Capitol Clinic – both of whom have served the Capitol for 36 years.

Also honored was Dr. Merle Ylaya, a dentist assigned at the Badian District Hospital, who has dedicated 20 years of service to the province.

Gov. Baricuatro thanked the three dentists for their faithful and dedicated service, saying their contributions have left a lasting impact on the lives of countless Cebuanos.

The governor also expressed her gratitude for having had the opportunity to work with them, even for a brief period, before their retirement from government service.

For her part, Comendador reflected on her long career in public service, recalling that she joined the provincial government in 1990 after at least four years of volunteering at the Capitol.

She said she found fulfillment in serving the people, particularly those who could least afford professional dental care, and considered it a privilege to use her expertise to help improve their quality of life.

Comendador also shared that her years in government service enabled her to help provide for her family and support the education of her children. Today, one of her children is an architect, while the other is a medical intern. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑪𝑵𝑼 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒔 𝑨𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒏 𝑹𝒖𝒔 𝑻𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒑 𝑻𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒆
