Gov. Pam Baricuatro personally inspected the newly upgraded facilities at Bantayan District Hospital, where improvements in healthcare technology and environmental infrastructure are now in place.
The upgrades earned praise from local officials, including 4th District Rep. Sun Shimura, who commended the governor for her commitment to modernizing healthcare services in rural communities.
“Congratulations, Gov, ha. Dako gyud kaayo og kausaban,” Rep. Shimura said.
During the visit, Gov. Baricuatro, together with Bantayan Mayor Alex Layese, Rep. Shimura, and Provincial Board Members Kerrie Keanne Shimura, Nelson Mondigo and Neneth Reluya, toured the hospital’s operating room to assess its newly acquired anesthesia machines. She also inspected the eco-friendly sewage treatment plant located on the hospital grounds.
The investment in advanced medical equipment and sustainable infrastructure represents a major step forward in Cebu province’s ongoing hospital modernization program, aimed at improving healthcare services and enhancing environmental stewardship across Capitol-run medical facilities.
