With Cebu being chosen as “Province of Charm” to represent the country for the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo 2026, the provincial government is stepping up efforts to promote the province as a key destination for trade, investment, tourism and business opportunities.
In preparation for the event scheduled in September, Governor Pam Baricuatro met with officials from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to discuss Cebu’s participation and planned activities during the international expo.

Leading the briefing was Leah Ocampo, Executive Director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) under the DTI. She was joined by DTI-7 Officer-in-Charge Esperanza Melgar and DTI Cebu Provincial Director Marivic Aguilar.
Ocampo said Governor Baricuatro is set to participate in speaking engagements during the Investment Promotion Conference, where Cebu will be given an opportunity to showcase its economic potential and investment opportunities. Cebu businesses will also be able to engage directly with targeted investors through business-to-business meetings.

As part of Cebu’s participation, the province will be allocated a 54-square-meter exhibit space at the National Pavilion venue, where it can highlight top tourist destinations, products, and services.
Cebu will also have the opportunity to participate in an Investment Promotion Conference and feature at least 10 exhibit booths at the Commodity Trade Hall of the expo.

Adding cultural flavor to the province’s presentation, Cebuano performers are also expected to take center stage during the event, which serves as one of the primary platforms for trade, investment, and diplomatic engagement between ASEAN member-states and China.
The expo presents an opportunity for Philippine micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as larger corporations, to showcase their products, expand market access in China, and strengthen regional economic ties.
Scheduled from September 17 to 21, the expo will also feature the Philippines as the “Country of Honor” and is expected to draw participation from major Filipino and Cebuano businesses. | 𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑪𝑵𝑼 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒑 𝑻𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑭𝑬
