Athletes, coaches, assistant coaches, and members of the management committee of the Cebu Province Division bound for the Palarong Pambansa 2026 received financial assistance from the Cebu Provincial Government on Saturday.
Capitol Chief of Staff James Canoy, representing Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, flew to Agusan del Sur to lead the distribution of the P5,000 cash allowance to each member of the 153-strong Cebu Province delegation competing under the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) banner in the national meet.
Members of the Cebu Province delegation expressed gratitude over the assistance, which marked the first time in years that individual financial support had been extended by the Capitol.
Cebu Province Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Senen Priscilo P. Paulin also thanked the provincial government for the aid extended to the delegation.
The Palarong Pambansa 2026 will open on Sunday in Agusan del Sur, gathering around 11,000 student-athletes from across the country to compete in various sporting events.
