The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) formally launched Cebu Business Month 2026 on Friday, May 22, gathering business leaders, entrepreneurs and stakeholders under this year’s theme, “Padayon Sugbo.”
The grand opening salvo, held at the Sky Hall of SM Seaside City Cebu, also served as the chamber’s joint general membership meeting and one of its flagship annual business events.

In her message, Gov. Pamela Baricuatro called for unity and resilience as Cebu continues to face economic and social challenges.
“Today more than ever, we need this spirit of collaboration and optimism because Padayon Cebu is more than just a slogan — it is a reflection of who we are as Cebuanos. Resilient. Hopeful. Hardworking. Forward-looking,” Gov. Baricuatro said.
The governor also pointed out the need for Cebu to continue moving forward despite difficult times, stressing that cooperation between sectors remains crucial to sustaining growth and opportunities in the province.

“We continue strengthening investor confidence, opening opportunities for businesses, supporting MSMEs, improving government services, and building stronger partnerships because we want every Cebuano to feel that development is real and inclusive,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, CCCI President Regan Rex King highlighted the role of partnerships between the government and private sector in driving economic progress.

“We continue to strengthen partnerships, trust, and cooperation that move our economy forward and position Cebu for greater opportunities,” King said in his welcome remarks.

The event gathered Cebuano entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and representatives from various sectors as the province reaffirmed its commitment to business growth and investment.CAPITOL PIO/With reports from Jamaica Vallejo, CNU Broadcast Journalism Intern
