The Cebu Provincial Government, through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, conducted a Mother’s Day outreach activity for women affected by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake on May 11 at the Barangay Hall of Caduawan in Tabogon town.

Dubbed “One-Stop Kalinga for Mothers,” the activity gathered around 350 mothers, barangay health workers and community workers for a day of psychosocial support, legal assistance and wellness services.

One of the highlights of the event was the “Kamusta Ka, Inahan?” psychosocial support session facilitated through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program. Participants shared personal stories and experiences as part of efforts to help mothers cope with stress and emotional challenges following the earthquake.

The Provincial Legal Office, together with Atty. Jofre B. Recososa of Recososa Law Firm, provided free legal consultations, while notarial services were extended by Atty. Marcelyn Urot.

Legal services covered concerns involving marital and family issues, child support and custody, procedures related to violence against women and children cases, correction of entries in birth certificates, affidavits, land titling and partition, deeds of sale, and extra-judicial settlements.

Mothers also availed themselves of free massage, haircut, manicure and pedicure services through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Santo Niño Skills Development and Assessment Center Inc.

To support food security and community recovery efforts, the Provincial Agriculture Office distributed 2,000 vegetable and fruit tree seedlings and 250 sets of vegetable seeds to residents.

The Cebu Provincial Government said the activity was part of its continuing efforts to recognize the strength and resilience of mothers while extending assistance to communities recovering from the earthquake. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝑨𝑫 𝑶𝑭𝑭𝑰𝑪𝑬
