₱94M Bridge Repair Works Begin in Northern Cebu After 6.9-Magnitude Earthquake

₱𝟗𝟒 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝟒 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐊𝐄-𝐇𝐈𝐓 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐆𝐄𝐒 𝐁𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐍

The Cebu Provincial Government continues to ramp up infrastructure rehabilitation efforts following last year’s magnitude 6.9 earthquake, with repair works now underway on additional damaged bridges aimed at restoring safer and more reliable connectivity in affected areas.

The Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) said four provincial bridges damaged by the earthquake are currently undergoing repairs, with a combined project cost of at least P94.2 million.

The bridge projects include:

1. Poblacion Borbon Bridge I (35 meters) – P38.9 million

2. Poblacion Borbon Bridge II (11.9 meters) – P7.2 million

3. Tabunan Bridge I and II, Borbon (24 meters) – P27 million

4. Calumboyan Bridge, Sogod (19 meters) – P21.1 million

These projects are on top of ongoing rehabilitation works on other earthquake-damaged bridges across northern Cebu’s fourth and fifth districts, with a total contract cost of P159.732 million.

Currently undergoing rehabilitation are:

1. Cabica Bridge, Borbon (25 meters) – P27.7 million

2. Cadaruhan Bridge, Borbon (24 meters) – P26.6 million

3. Tagnucan Bridge, Borbon (9 meters) – P5.5 million

4. Poblacion–Suba Bridge, Daanbantayan (30 meters) – P33.3 million

5. Guadalupe Bridge, Bogo City (18 meters) – P20 million

6. Tabunok Bridge, Sogod (16 meters) – P18 million

7. Piyo Bridge, abogon (15 meters) –P16.8 million

8. Lamintak Bridge, Medellin (7 meters) –P11.4 million
