True to her promise that no one should be left behind, Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro appealed on Monday, May 11, 2026, for every concerned office to heighten the monitoring of those affected by the ongoing fuel and economic crises and assist them.
She made the statement during the meeting of the Central Visayas Regional Uplift Committee (RUC)-7 held at the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev)-7 office.

“Our responsibility doesn’t end with an immediate response. Today, I ask this body to intensely monitor the affected families so that no one falls through the cracks,” the governor said.
She was referring to immediate interventions that the government, either local or national, have implemented in response to the crises, like the monetary assistance, goods assistance, and the like.

In particular, the Cebu Provincial Government has launched 14 projects or programs towards this end, particularly the financial assistance to habal-habal drivers, Tabang Pangbiyahe, Agrilink Cebu, activation of the Provincial Price Monitoring Council, and the conduct of a series of coordination meetings with the private sector and with national government agencies.

Uplift, or the “Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport”, is a whole-of-government response of the National Government created last March to address the national energy emergency declared by the president. The program is aimed towards mitigating the impacts of rising fuel prices due to the US-Iran conflict, especially on vulnerable sectors like transport and agriculture.
