𝐃𝐑. 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐒 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐅
With an overwhelming vote of confidence, the appointment of Dr. Sheila Faciol as head of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) has been confirmed.
During its regular session on Monday, May 11, the Cebu Provincial Board unanimously approved a resolution concurring with and confirming Dr. Faciol’s appointment as Provincial Health Officer II under the Cebu Provincial Health Office.
The legislative body’s move came a week after Gov. Pamela Baricuatro appointed Dr. Faciol and administered her oath as Provincial Health Officer II.
During the session, Fourth District PB Member Celestino “Tining” Martinez III said he could vouch for Dr. Faciol’s integrity and passion for public service. PB Member Kerrie Shimura, who also represents the Fourth District where Bogo City is located, congratulated Dr. Faciol for accepting the responsibility of leading the PHO. Meanwhile, Fifth District PB Member Red Duterte also congratulated Dr. Faciol for choosing to serve at the Capitol.
As provincial health officer, Dr. Faciol will oversee public health initiatives and supervise the province’s 16 Capitol-run hospitals. She brings decades of experience in clinical care and health systems leadership to the position. Before her appointment, Dr. Faciol served as head of the Rural Health Unit in Pinamungajan for 15 years before joining the Capitol PHO and later taking on the role of Assistant City Health Officer in Bogo City.
Dr. Faciol will work alongside Dr. Jenina Canoy, Provincial Health Officer I for hospitals, who took her oath in March, as part of the provincial government’s efforts to strengthen coordination and improve the delivery of health services across Cebu. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒀𝑱𝑩
