The Bantayan District Hospital has acquired a new anesthesia machine, which will significantly strengthen the facility’s capacity to safely manage surgical procedures.
Dr. James Nicolas H. L. Najarro, chief of hospital, announced the installation of the equipment, a crucial upgrade for patient safety in the operating room.
Unlike older methods of sedating patients, a modern anesthesia machine precisely delivers and continuously monitors the mixture of medical gases and anesthetic vapors, ensuring the patient remains at a stable and safe depth of sedation throughout a procedure.
The installation is part of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro’s ongoing modernization program to upgrade the facilities of the province’s 16 Capitol-run hospitals, in a bid to deliver better health-care services to communities, especially those in the islands.
