𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Provincial Administrator Joseph Ace Durano led Capitol officials and representatives in welcoming a delegation from the Presidential Office for Maritime Concerns (POMC) for a consultative meeting on May 3, 2026, at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

The POMC delegation was headed by Capt. Xylee Paculba (Ret.), project lead of the National Maritime Security Strategy (NMSS) Development Team, alongside Herman Kraft, researcher Nick Aguilar, and Jerrah Anglo of The Asia Foundation.
The consultation is part of the ongoing development of the National Maritime Security Strategy, which seeks to operationalize the country’s maritime security framework under the National Maritime Policy. It provides a venue for local government units and key stakeholders to share insights on current challenges and opportunities, particularly in coastal and island provinces such as Cebu.

Discussions focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination, protecting critical maritime sectors—including trade, shipping, tourism and fisheries—and promoting sustainable, secure maritime governance.

Inputs gathered from the consultation will help bridge policy and implementation gaps, enhance community engagement, and support the development of a more responsive and resilient national maritime strategy. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒀𝑱𝑩
