𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Provincial Gender and Development (GAD) conducted a series of child protection awareness sessions in Toledo City and in the municipality San Fernando, Cebu on April 14, 2026, in line with the observance of the Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month.
The sessions highlighted key provisions of Republic Act No. 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, as well as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, alongside reporting mechanisms and referral pathways for child abuse cases.
The initiative aims to empower adolescents by equipping them with essential knowledge on their rights, responsibilities, and access to support systems. It also underscored the importance of early reporting, strengthened community involvement, and inter-agency coordination in preventing child abuse.
