A new three-story academic building with six classrooms was formally inaugurated and turned over Friday, April 17, at Cebu Technological University’s San Fernando Campus, marking a significant investment in education by the Cebu Provincial Government.

The project, which cost P11,999,266.42, aims to provide improved learning facilities for students and support the growing academic needs of the campus.
During the ceremony, Gov. Pamela Baricuatro emphasized the importance of education as a cornerstone of development, describing the inauguration as more than just the opening of a structure.
“Today is a meaningful day, not just because we are inaugurating a building, but because we are opening more doors for learning, growth, and opportunity,” Gov. Baricuatro said.

The governor shared that her commitment to education is deeply personal, saying that she comes from a family of educators. She said that investing in education remains a top priority of her administration.
“When we invest in education, we are investing in the future of Cebu,” she said.
Gov. Baricuatro added that the project reflects the administration’s focus on completing initiatives that directly benefit the public.

She said that government spending must translate into tangible improvements in people’s lives.
“Every peso of public funds must translate into real benefit for our people. That is the kind of governance we are building—one that is responsible, discerning, and always focused on what is right for the Cebuanos,” she said.
Addressing students, the governor expressed hope that the new building would inspire them to pursue their goals with greater determination.
“This building is for you. May this be a place where you dream bigger, work harder, and build a better future—not just for yourselves, but for Cebu,” she said.
The new academic building is expected to help ease classroom congestion and enhance the overall learning environment at the San Fernando Campus.

Dr. Wilfredo G. Anoos, Campus Director, expressed his gratitude to Gov. Baricuatro and the Cebu Provincial Government for the generosity and support to the university that have “transformed a vision into a reality that will serve countless students in the years to come.”
Aside from the CTU officials led by OIC University President Jonita V. Literatus, the ceremony was also attended by First District Provincial Board Member Neneth Reluya, San Fernando Councilor Carlos Miguel “Caloy” Canoy and other local officials. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒀𝑱𝑩, 𝑭𝑬
