The Cebu Provincial Government has released a total of P1,010,000 in financial assistance to 10 barangays in the third and seventh districts to support local infrastructure and socio-cultural projects.
The aid forms part of the Capitol’s continuing effort to strengthen grassroots development while promoting safer and more disciplined communities under national government programs.

Governor Pamela Baricuatro personally handed the checks to the barangay captains and reminded them to take seriously the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) “Safer Cities” initiative, which aims to promote community safety and public discipline through stricter enforcement of local ordinances and increased police visibility in high-density areas.

The program, which has been heavily implemented in Metro Manila, includes measures such as limiting public drinking, banning public toplessness, regulating loud videoke, and enforcing curfews for minors.
“Kita sa barangay, mosunod lang ta sa DILG guidelines,” the governor said.
