Ten dedicated personnel from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) successfully completed the rigorous Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training held on April 6–10, 2026.

Over the past several days, participants were immersed in intensive and hands-on learning, covering essential life-saving competencies, such as proper execution of swimming strokes, water entry and landing techniques, victim approach and rescue, life-saving methods, group survival strategies, underwater knot tying, and the effective use of floating devices. Each module was reinforced through practical evaluations to ensure mastery of skills.

On the final day, the team demonstrated their endurance and readiness by completing a challenging one-mile open water swim. This was followed by boat handling exercises and a full-scale rescue scenario simulation, putting their training into action in a realistic setting.
The PDRRMO extends its gratitude to the Philippine Coast Guard – Special Operations Force Central Visayas for the invaluable training, guidance, and opportunity to further strengthen the capabilities of its responders.
With strengthened skills and unwavering commitment, PDRRMO continues to stand ready—braving the waters to save lives. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶
